Things That Make Me Cry

At the wedding of one of my oldest friends on Friday I made a bit of a spectacle of myself. Not only did I go a bit nuts trying to catch the bouquet (which I caught, watch out boys!), I also cried in church, more than anyone else.

Originally, the only problem I had with demonstrating my emotion was the mess it made of my perfect eye make-up. Then I got to the reception and five different people made comments like:

"You're not still crying are you?"

"Please don't start crying again."

"You are the most emotional person I've ever seen at a wedding."

"It was so beautiful when you cried, you seemed to really feel it!"

"For god's sake Elizabeth, I'm glad you've finally got it together."
followed by an impression of me wailing.

Although I'm very comfortable being the centre of attention, it's not so hot when people you don't know refer to you as "the Girl Who Sobbed".

Anyway, today another friend sent me this and my eyes started pouring again:

It reminded me of when I went to the pictures and saw this part in Star Wars 3 and could not stop crying for literally 3 hours:

And I can't even blame it on hormones. I am just a sucker.

Pattie Boyd Talks Beatles Vs Stones

What an obnoxious host Martin Lewis is though.

Justin Townes Earle Tomorrow Night

Photobucket
The amazing Justin Townes Earle, Steve Earle's son, and his very talented band, will be playing the Slaughtered Lamb in Farringdon tomorrow night.

He was the best act I saw at SXSW this year so tomorrow night is surely going to rock our socks off.

Brendan Benson: The Death of a Sex Symbol?

Noooooooooooooo!
I was just watching the Raconteurs play the Culture Show and I don't think I fancy Brendan Benson any more....err..maybe until he gets a Barnet chop.

Their performance of Carolina Drama isn't on youtube yet but yeck them playing Salute Your Solution at Glasto.

Two words: Leo Sayer

I am doing a vaguely acceptable job in avoiding getting romantically involved with musicians (it was one of my New Year's Resolutions), but in this instance it's purely Benson's natural perm that is turning me off, not his job. I mean, what hot blooded straight woman would not find Jack White's shaking and screeching and Patrick Keeler's sexual drumming arousing? And check out Little Jack's groove, adorable! And sexy!

Brendan, Brendan, Brendan, you know I love you and your blue eyes, but come on. There isn't a man on earth who can pull off a home perm.
